Pressure-Sensitive Beer Labels

Oculto Beer's Labels Feature Color-Changing Thermostatic Ink

Oculto beer is a mysterious product, launched by Anheuser Busch InBev, that features a label as mysterious as the word 'Oculto' itself, which means 'hidden' in Spanish.

The Oculto beer's front label uses a tactile ink and black light inks to make the experience of looking at, grabbing and drinking the beer a multisensory one.

The black label features a thermochromic ink which changes color depending on the temperature. At room temperature, the labels show off blue agave leaves. When cold, the design changes and a pair of eyes are revealed.

Printed on pressure-sensitive labels, the design features the eyes on the rear label, while an optical brightener and foiling effects further add to the allure of the label. Ultimately, this label is designed to make the action of sipping beer about more than just the taste and the buzz -- it's a full-on multisensory experience designed to stimulate.
