'Apple' has teamed up with Australia-based 'Cochlear' to create the 'Nucleus 7 Sound Processor.'
This connected hearing aid is the first of its kind in that it doesn't require an app download to be controlled by an iPhone. Apple worked to create a processes that makes accessing the control settings of hearing aids (both implanted and outer ear devices) easier than ever before. The tech giant then offered the technology to hearing aid developers for free so that this intuitive process can become ubiquitous worldwide. Like a Bluetooth-connected device, the Nucleus 7 Sound Processor is connected via the user's iPhone settings. Once paired, the device can be controlled with the iPhone's volume controls.
The Nucleus 7 Sound Processor is 24% lighter, 25% smaller and has up to 50% more battery life than its predecessor. The user is also able to receive FaceTime calls and music directly to their hearing aid.
