The Asheville-based restaurant chain, Nine Mile, has launched a new hot sauce collection. The popular chain is known for its Caribbean-inspired dishes that can be ordered in various spice profiles.
Nine Mile's popular spice offerings can now be replicated at home using one of the three new hot sauces. To create the sauce blends, Nine Mile used local peppers grown in the Carolinas. Scotch Bonnets, chipotles, habaneros, tomatillos, and jalapeños have been blended to create three new hot sauces - Red-I, Sun is Shining, and Hempress Rising.
The Red-I sauce is made from chipotles, habanero, and fire-roasted tomatoes - its flavor palette is smoky and earthy. The Sun is Shining sauce is made with Scotch Bonnet peppers and has a flavor profile of curry, ginger, and mango. Lastly, the Hempress Rising sauce is a green tomatillo-based sauce infused with jalapenos. It offers a tangy, spicy, and nicely acidic flavor.
