An incredible interactive NikeFree store has recently popped up in a mall in Mexico City. The travelling installation provides users with a customized technicolor lighting display based on their personal movements.
The store weighs in at 13 tons and covers an area of 20 X 8 meters, making it a bit difficult to transport, but completely worth it. The NikeFree store looks like a giant three-sided cage made out of luminescent tubes. Attached to each cage bar is a brand new Nike sneaker. A television screen rests on one wall of the cage, ready for people of all ages to use. A Kinect device measures the user's movements and tells them what exercise to do next. As the user moves along as dictated by the Kinest, the store's cage exterior begins to wiggle and move in mysterious ways. The effect of its movements makes the attached Nike sneakers appear as if they're moving, making the NikeFree Store an incredibly interactive and artistic marketing device.
