The Nike pop-up store in Rio was created for last year's Olympic games and designed by the studio GTM Cenografia.
The temporary retail space was inspired by "shipping containers and industrial sheds," and at its top features a rapidly changing digital work of art in the form of a cube – created by the Brazilian artist and designer Muti Randolph. The store's shipping container inspiration gives it an industrial aesthetic, which is coupled with a clean and modern interior that neatly displays Nike's products in a minimalist fashion. The interior of the store balances neutral colors with bright pops of neon lights and artwork.
This Nike pop-up's unique inspiration worked to attract customers by doing more than just offering products, and instead by making the purchasing journey much more experiential and engaging.
