The iconic Irish poet and playwright Oscar Wilde was the inspiration behind this new 44STUDIO collection for the Fall/Winter 2018 season, which was presented during Paris Fashion Week.
As Wilde is known to be "one of the most controversial and transgressive figures of the late Victorian London society," he functions as the perfect source of inspiration for a selection of designs that go beyond dated gender norms.
Throughout the images that comprise the new 44STUDIO lookbook, male models are shown sporting garments that are traditionally considered feminine, such as frilled skirts, fishnet tights, high heels, and gowns. Also spotlighted in the collection are boldly oversized garments, such as a pinstriped jacket that has a poncho-like fit.
