In response to the current climate crisis, young environmental activist Greta Thunberg has partnered with The Guardian to launch the new #NatureNow campaign that asks individuals to use protect, restore, and fund natural climate solutions -- mainly by planting trees on a global scale.
As the #NatureNow campaign points out, plants can remove large amounts of carbon dioxide from the atmosphere, however, only 2% of funding devoted to reducing emissions is spent on planting more trees. The bulk of the funding is spent on global fossil fuel subsidies as oppose to nature-based solutions. The #NatureNow campaign asks that world leaders and citizens focus on using nature as a tool in order to fix our broken climate.
In an effort to reinforce the concept of sustainable and carbon-neutral practices, the commerical in the campaign was filmed with exceptional low environmental impact. The creators used public transportation, recycled archive footage, and green energy to produce and edit the film
