Walgreens Naloxone HCl Nasal Spray is Arriving Nationwide Now

The Walgreens Naloxone HCl Nasal Spray is a private label opioid overdose emergency treatment being launched by the pharmacy retailer to provide consumers with a lower cost, accessible option to keep on hand.

The product is formulated for use in the event of an opioid overdose and will temporarily reverse the effects of opioids like heroin, fentanyl and prescription opioids. The product is priced at $34.99 for a two-pack of single dose sprays, which positions it as $10 less than the comparable national brand. The product is making its way to locations now through the end of the month.

Senior Medical Director in the Walgreens Office of Clinical Integrity Dr. Priya Mammen commented on the Walgreens Naloxone HCl Nasal Spray saying, "As a leading healthcare services company rooted in a retail pharmacy footprint, Walgreens is committed to removing barriers to naloxone access. As an emergency physician, I have for years combatted the devastating impacts of the opioid overdose epidemic and worked tirelessly to save lives.
