Japanese design studio Nendo teams with Danish furniture manufacturer Fritz Hansen in delivering the N01 Dining chair. The new seating piece is a reworked version of a Fritz Hansen classic. Apart from the brand's first solid wooden chair, the 1957 Grand Prix chair designed by Arne Jacobsen, the N01 Dining chair is the only solid wooden chair offered by Nendo.
Nendo's founder Oki Sato expresses the excitement in reviving such an iconic furniture piece, and talks about the irony of the difficulty of crafting a wooden chair. The goal that the collaborating labels focused upon was delivering a chair that was both contemporary but also complementing the historical concept of Hansen's old chair. The Nendo x Fritz Hansen N01 Dining chair will officially make its debut at Salone Del Mobile from April 17-21.
