Michael Lilley founded My Time as a place within the community where people suffering from depression could come to without an appointment and receive support. What began in 2002 as a local initiative has spread throughout the UK in 2012.
My Time uses a mix of several psychological and personal approaches when helping individuals overcome the struggles of depression. Through cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), Morita therapy (derived from Japanese Buddhists), African-based therapy and Islamic psychology, My Time mixes person-centered approaches with an understanding of faith and culture to help people overcome their personal struggles.
According to the social enterprise "the goal is to enable the individual to break down internal and external barriers and bridge the gap between personal, workplace and community needs in response to challenges of a changing world."
