Many might find the Mormon Missionary Positions series hilarious, and rightly so. It revolves around two classically dressed men as they engage in common and not-so-common sexual positions from the missionary position to drawing the bow. Although it appears to be a kama sutra guide for Mormon men, the photo series touches on some very serious concerns regarding the Latter-Day Saint's views on same-sex partners.
Conceived and shot by Portland-based photographer Neil DaCosta, the same man who put together a series revolving around suicidal astronauts, the Mormon Missionary Positions photo series shows how progressive modern society has become despite the short-sightedness of a few.
The images of the Mormon Missionary Positions series is juxtaposed against an except from the LDS: "Sexual relations are proper only between a man and a woman who are legally and lawfully wedded as husband and wife. Any other sexual relations, including those between persons of the same gender, are sinful and undermine the divinely created institution of the family."
