Area Ware's Moon Chalk reinvents the classic writing and art tool. Rather than selling its chalk in traditional stick form, the design and lifestyle brand opts for 3 sculptural shapes that can be purchased individually or in a bundle.
The three shapes featured are a Cosmic Pollen that helps users create a dotted pattern on paper, a Lunar Rake that creates five parallel lines per stroke and a Satellite Stack that creates 5 squiggled parallel lines.
Moon Chalk was designed by artist and designer Nikolas Bentel and consists of 100% chalk. "My goal in designing The Moon Chalk was to not only make a geometrically precise drawing tool but something that creates new and original patterns, that are not tied to exact measurements and traditional drawing rules," said Bentel when discussing the project. Each chalk is non-toxic and easy to wash off as an added bonus, making it a product that artists of all ages will love.
