Massachusetts-based artist Molly Hatch has long worked with ceramics in her work, but her latest creations take the experience to a new, frenzied level. A ceramicist, Hatch, who is represented by Todd Merrill Studio in New York City, has previously collaborated with Anthropologie, Blend Fabrics, Frankie & Fern and Galison, while she has also designed her own line of ceramics available through her Etsy shop.
In her work, Molly Hatch often references imagery and patterns that carry a historical significance in the world of ceramic art.
Hatch's biggest ceramic plate collage to date is a permanent installation at the High Museum of Art in Atlanta, Georgia, titled Physic Garden, which consists of 475 plates and references the imagery used on Chelsea Factory plates as early as the 1750s.
