Rosenthal's 'PorceLAN' vases are connected and modular, boasting a segmented, sectional design that joins together using innovative magnets. Doubling as a router, the vase consists of two separate pieces that fit together seamlessly. While the upper, removable part is for flowers, the one below contains all the technology, hidden from view. The contemporary vases feature vivid geometries and are the work of creative agency Kolle Rebbe. Consisting of Ferdinand Povel, Haiko Meyer, Simon Jasper Philipp and Florian Ludwig, the agency's ideation, development and design team sought to create objects that fuse beauty with function.
The PorceLAN collection offers a stylized rendition of traditional flower pots by elevating their curvaceous shape using technology. The vases are put together using two separated fragments that are able to connect together using hidden magnets located at their bases. Their contents are able to sit inside the top fragments while the secondary pieces lock into place utilizing a magnetic pull. In addition storing plants, these modular vases also act as practical routers and let homeowners get online in style.
