Modular WFH Systems

The AD-APT Modular System Changes Apartments for Play, Work & Cooking

A lack of spatial separation in the home can make it challenging to mentally leave one task and start another, which is why the AD-APT modular system by architecture firm Woods Bagot has the potential to make stay-at-home life more comfortable. The series is designed to modify apartments with walls and screens that can easily be rearranged for different tasks like cooking, working or playing.

The design was developed in response to the global pandemic, which is seeing many people having to creatively adapt their home spaces for work and other unexpected purposes. According to firm principal Simon Saint, "As more people become comfortable with working remotely, they will expect to be able to do so more often... While we expect the physical changes to offices and classrooms to happen over time, the changes to our homes could be far more rapid."
