Luxurious Modern Row Houses

Workstead Mixes Historic Heritage with Contemporary Design Elements

Located in Charleston, South Carolina, this modern row house received a major interior design overhaul by American creative studio Workstead. The home spans on three floors and after the frim's artistic intervention, the rooms entertain a welcoming and warm aesthetic that is riddled with luxurious embellishments and refined comfort.

In the process of developing the new interior of the modern row house, Workstead did not omit the 19th-century historic value of the dwelling — from the sculpturally relevant "wooden staircase, balustrade and flooring" to the delicately exposed brickwork.

The design studio terms this particular renovation project of an "all-sensory experience of Southern modernism" — a space where each contemporary element is an agreeable response to a historically meaningful structure that shapes the base character of the house.
