Phone-Focused Education

This AMPION-Born Mobile Learning Startup Empowers African Teachers

Born out of a bus tour startup accelerator, this mobile learning platform aims to empower educators in Africa and encourage schooling outside of the classroom. Sterio.me is one of the technology-based social enterprises that resulted from AMPION's Venture Bus and was named one of Fast Company's Top Ten Most Innovative Companies in Africa.

The mobile learning startup helps students learn through a free phone call. Teachers record or pick a quiz through the Sterio.me portal and students get a free call containing their teacher's recording. Learners also get an SMS text message with a code to access this portal. The platform gives educators insights once their students have completed the quiz as well. Learners can be more engaged while teachers save time and receive data.
