This Mobile Health Center is Helping Impoverished Cambodian Communities

Providing access to healthcare is an enormous barrier when it comes to breaking the cycle of poverty in developing countries, which is why a mobile health center can create tangible change. After running a design competition to optimize mobility, UK based non-profit organization Building Trust International is making a difference in South Asia.

The 164 foot mobile health center is a recycled shipping container in Cambodia and provides quality health care to the local communities. The doctor's clinic includes two small examination rooms, storage space, a kitchen and bathroom, as well as one big treatment room. The medical center also has a large porch with ramp access and acts as an education and community hub in addition to providing healthcare services.
