Architectural firms Frentes and PAX.RQ have teamed up to create an inflatable, three-piece pavilion called the Mobile Cultural Mobilizarte. The Mobile Cultural Mobilizarte was the firm's entrant into the Mobilizarte Design Competition, a competition which sought out a pavilion for Brazil that could be quickly and easily transported and have a lifespan of five years.
The Mobile Cultural Mobilizarte was designed to be a futuristic throwback, with its unique roof design being inspired by the crochet and lacework quilts that Brazil is known for. The pavilion features scaffolding, prism towers, an inflatable membrane and can be set up in five days. The pavilion can cover an area the size of 3,500 square-meters and its roof stands 33ft. tall and is both waterproof and UV-proof.
Even if the Mobile Cultural Mobilizarte doesn't win the competition, I would still like to see this design developed. It would be great for countries hosting major sporting events such as the Olympics or the World Cup.
