Bookworm-Friendly Retreats

Home by Miler Lagos is an Igloo Entirely Made from Books

Colombian artist Miler Lagos has created an igloo from piles of stacked books. The literary hideaway takes up nine feet of space and is the perfect retreat for bookworms. The artist took hours to painstakingly stack these books on top of one and another to create this igloo shape.

From outside, only the book pages are visible, but once you crawl inside the book spines are visible and make for a beautifully colorful visual feast. Amazingly all of the books are freestanding and don't require any glue or magic tricks to keep them standing, just good old fashioned design and engineering.

The construction named 'Home' offers visitors to the igloo a chance to recharge their batteries and spend some time away from technology: perhaps learning something from a book.
