The Metal Exterior of This Rural Cabin Conceals a Full Pine Wood Interior

Looking like a quaint yet imposing miniature fortress, the metal exterior of Midden Studio by London design firm Studio Weave is an anomaly amongst the idyllic Scottish countryside where it sits.

The studio itself consists of two separate structures that stand over top of a small stream, with both connected to one another in a staggered position. On the roof and side exterior of the building, a series of zinc metal panels stamped with diamonds and crosses have been laid out in an alternating and eye-catching pattern.

While the outside metal exterior of the building may give off an armored aesthetic, on the inside the atmosphere becomes much more rustic and natural. Windows and skylights are carefully positioned to flood the fully pine wood interior with natural light, and a clear glass opening on the floor gives inhabitants a view of the babbling brook below.
