George Qua-Enoo Photographs South Africans Holding Messages for Mandela

Ghana-born photographer George Qua-Enoo photographed the citizens of Pretoria, South Africa holding messages for Mandela after it was announced he had passed away on December 5, 2013.

Qua-Enoo immigrated to South Africa a little before Nelson Mandela was elected President and as such was impacted by the death of the 95 year old leader just as much as those who are still living in South Africa. Qua-Enoo wanted to know what impact Nelson Mandela had on the lives of South Africans and how they felt about him and his passing.

The result is a series of photographs that show us the people of Pretoria with messages for Mandela saying how much they miss him, how they appreciate how much he had done for them and how they will always remember him.
