Iconic Cool Kid Cameos

Matthew McConaughey as David Wooderson for ‘Synthezisers' Music

The new Butch Walker and the Black Widows video ‘Synthesizers’ kicks it old school with Matthew McConaughey as David Wooderson.

Playing his character from the 1993 film ‘Dazed and Confused,’ McConaughey makes a return as older-guy heart throb David Wooderson. The iconic character whisks viewers through the bar, high-fiving the entire way. Directed by Shane Valdes, the Butch Walker and the Black Widows Synthezisers clip is a hilarious mockery of the bar scene and hipster kids. McConaughey/Wooderson identifies as having never written a song with a synth and not having a sexy addiction to heroine either.

The chorus of the song goes, "Once in your life won’t you do what feels right instead of waiting for the next big thing to strike…" It’s a super encouraging anthem to stay original and be yourself. Or in the words of David Wooderson,"You just gotta keep on livin’, man. L-I-V-I-N." Amen!
