Louis Vuitton's men's creative director Pharrell Williams works in collaboration with the artistic director Nicolas Ghesquière to work on one of the house's most notable pieces: the Matte Lit. This is a trunk bed that was originally designed in the 19th century for explorers and aristocrats.
It boasts a portable structure and heritage sleeping solution and is entirely revamped with a more modern lens by both talents. The new version wraps the exterior with distressed stripes as a nod to the 1872 LV canvas. The interiors are adorned with bright red and white stripes and have a jacquard mattress and pillow embroidered with 'LV Lovers.' Ghesquière's variation has a futuristic approach with metal plates and corner pieces.
