For construction workers and rugged adventurers that need a lift, electric tools maker Makita corp has released its Makita CM501D coffee maker. The rechargeable device runs off the same lithium-ion batteries as Makita's cordless screwdrivers and drills and was designed to be the perfect device for outdoor constructions sites with limited electrical outlets. The device does accept Makita's proprietary coffee pods, but can also brew instant coffee.
The Makita CM501D is the latest version of Makita's coffee maker line and has been upgraded to brew a maximum of 5.3 cups of coffee on one charge, and has been stripped down to weigh only 1.5 kilograms. The maker is currently limited to the 18v battery pack, but the battery does provide ample power and longevity to the machine.
