These faux magazine covers by Magenta King probably won’t be fictitious for long with the popularity of superheroes still on the rise, but until that time comes, we’ll just have to enjoy these wonderful drawings. Seen here are fake covers for issues of Esquire and Rolling Stone featuring Scott Summers, AKA Cyclops, of X-Men fame and Spider-Man respectively. Not to detract from King’s impressive illustrative work, but by far the most impressive thing about these covers is how true-to-life they actually look, with fake stories and all.
It’d be a great injustice not to talk about Magenta King’s drawing style however, which I find to be rather original. He seems to mix eclectic media to render in a manner that’s distinctly his own. To truly understand the breadth of his versatility, be sure to check out King's personal website.
