At first glance, I couldn't believe that the Lucky Drops design above is a home, especially when you see how the back of it tapers off. It's almost as though the architect misjudged the dimensions of the place.
The Lucky Drops residence shows how Japanese designers and architects are creatively trying to work with smaller plots of land when building new homes. Designed by Atelier Tekuto, the Lucky Drops house is located about 30 minutes outside of downtown Tokyo.
The Lucky Drops house takes on a long and narrow trapezoid shape in which the underground space is heavily used. The home's aesthetics are clean and simple despite its atypical design. I especially like the translucent walls -- what an excellent way to draw in natural light!
