The Liverpool Philharmonic Hall is a historic concert venue that will reopen after an ambitious redesign. The building was constructed in 1939 and has been in continuous use ever since, which lead to its first remodel in 1995. Since then however, the busy venue needed to be revamped to incorporate newer technologies while keeping its old aesthetic charm.
The front-of-house area was completely redone and included the lobby, public rooms as well as the bar and cafe. The corridor leading to the auditorium was also given a fresh coat of paint and was widened. Lastly, the main auditorium was updated to meet modern technological demands including machinery and lighting. The biggest change however is a new extension added to the back of the theater, which houses an adaptable and interactive performance space.
