Budapest firm Foldes Architects designed the 'Long Brick House,'a residence featuring a 17-meter long library wall, for a couple of book-lovers. The architects decided to turn the horizontal axis of the corridor into a shelving unit, or, more accurately, a library space to contain their beloved books.
The home is built on a hill near Budapest. Inside, the architects inserted a series of steps that follow the slope of the hill, allowing the rooms to become taller as one progresses throughout. The plan concludes with a terrace that offers shade, views and plenty of outdoor space.
The varied dimensions of the interior rooms, coupled with the "limitless panorama of the terrace," ensure that the home is an interesting visual and spatial experience.
