The Leveraxe makes the once sweaty, back-breaking process of chopping up firewood easy, safe and efficient.
20 years ago, a Finnish man named Heikki moved out into the deep woods of Sipoo, Finland, where he had to chop a lot of firewood to keep his family warm. Heikki soon realized that breaking up logs was an arduous task: it was hard work, it was easy to hurt yourself and it often took several hacks just to split off one piece of wood. He thought that there had to be a better way. So Heikki invented the Leveraxe.
Because the Leveraxe is based on a lever, rather than a wedge shape, it makes a sideways motion when it cuts into a log. This forces large chunks of wood to break off easily. It has a hook on the non-cutting edge, which stops it from potentially rebounding and causing serious injury. It also features a hollow rubber handle, which makes it very lightweight.
Whether it's for a summer campfire at a cottage, a cozy fireplace in a cabin on a ski trip, or a wood-burning oven in the backwoods of Finland, the Leveraxe will change the way the world chops wood.
