In less than a month, over 200 professionals will descend on Glendon Campus in Toronto for Les Tablettistes. Now in its third year, Les Tablettistes began as an idea from Groupe Média TFO to elevate the level of discussion around the way we learn. Les Tablettistes is a fully bilingual forum to connect with professionals from various backgrounds impacting the world of learning. From content creators to platform developers, educators to policy makers, Les Tablettistes is a unique conference exploring the technological transformation of teaching and learning.
How do we teach for a future that is accelerating towards us each and every day? A recently released study from Infosys titled Amplifying Human Potential found that 4 out of 10 young people believe that machines will be able to do their jobs within a decade. Nearly 50% of young workers from Western countries said their education did not prepare them for their jobs, according to the survey results. Infosys Chief Executive Vishal Sikka said that "technologies have evolved far faster than what was thought possible even 10 years ago, while the educational system remains wedded to practices initially designed for agrarian societies 300 years ago."
So what must be done to change how we learn and prepare our youths? How do we motivate a generation raised during a period of economic collapse to believe there is a future for them in the workforce? With new information being created at an exponential pace, how will innovation produce solutions to improve how we pass down crucial knowledge?
This year, Les Tablettistes will host an exciting array of guests to spark the conversation around how we should rethink learning. Join speakers ranging from the 21st Prime Minister of Canada the Right Honourable Paul Martin, TED speaker and educator Will Richardson, YouTube sensation PL Cloutier, and Canada’s Research Chair in Clinical Cyberpsychology Stéphane Bouchard.
Les Tablettistes is one of the premiere education events in Canada, offering a moment of discussion and reflection as we race forward into a rapidly changing future. Join our community of explorers, experts and thinkers, and discover our passion for understanding how we learn and explore in the digital age.
