Arkitito Arquitetura Designed the Lechuza House in Brazil

Local design studio Arktito Arquitetura created the Lechuza House, which is a trapezoidal home clad with stucco located in Sao Paulo, Brazil. The home rests on top of a triangular gardon base on a hilltop that overlooks the Vila Madalena neighborhood. The namesake is Spanish for owl and the home is integrated into the steep sloped lot in order to properly explore the terrain's particularities.

The clients are relocating from the countryside to the city and want to recreate the tranquility of nature they are used to being surrounded by. To do so, they look to incorporate the "elements of traditional Mexican architecture into the new residence as a way to evoke nostalgic memories." The studio explains, "The house's volumetry presents itself as a solid structure, interrupted by the dynamism of the openings that strategically cleave the facades and surrounded by the pair of the courtyard."
