The classic LC5 sofa by Le Corbusier is was designed by the architect way back in the 1930s for his own apartment in Paris. Italian luxury brand Cassina updated the design in 1974 to include a chrome frame and now, the design is getting another update.
Collaborating with the Le Corbusier Foundation, Cassina's refreshing of the LC5 sofa includes scaling up the design and offering a range of new finishes, including seven new colors. The LC5 sofa now comes in two and three-seater options and design enthusiasts can expect to get the first looks at the new design in person at this year's Salone del Mobile, held annually in Milan. Although it's been tweaked slightly, the form of the LC5 sofa remains unchanged, proving that good design absolutely never goes out of style.
