Studious Winged Figurines

Lauren Alane Loves to Make Birds and This Fall is Taking Them to School

These studious birds by artist Lauren Alane simply make me want to go back to school and carry them around everywhere I go. They are the most adorable creation I have seen in a while -- it's like a happy version of Angry Birds.

Lauren Alane has been making birds since 2007, and her recent collection is a back to school gang. Each one of these birds have a personality according to the different members of a school: there are students, teachers, a headmaster and a bully. She personifies her birds and puts them in funny situations to make them more charming and humorous. For instance, she gathers in line some birds that look like students, with reading glasses and all, and calls the picture School Portrait. Further, she creates comical situations and narratives with her little feathery friends.

Lauren Alane suggests other uses for her birds like cake toppers and cute decorations for adults and kids' rooms.
