Sculptural Slat Furniture

The Lath Table by Jonathan Dorthe Plays with Light and Shadows

The Lath Table is a deceptively simple piece of furniture. Though its basic silhouette would have people's eyes glazing over, the way the shuttered slats of wood play with the light will wake them up quite effectively. The Lath Table casts a beautiful pattern of light and shadow on the ground wherever it is placed, adding to the overall ambiance of a living space in a subtle and tasteful way.

Designed by Montreal-based designer Jonathan Dorthe for furniture manufacturer Atelier-D, the Lath Table is made out of thin laser-cut plywood grouped together and topped with either a wooden surface or a black acrylic one. The geometric design is perfect for both modern and traditional homes as well as, of course, personal tastes.
