Pizza Hut Japan is serving up something spooky for the Halloween season with the debut of its new landmine pizza.
Officially called the Jirai-kei Ikasumi Yummy-ochi Pizza in Japanese, the new landmine pizza plays on a trend from the fashion world. In Japan, jirai-kei, or 'landmine-type,' refers to a fashion and makeup trend that takes traditionally cute aesthetics and puts a dark twist on them. Pizza Hut's new landmine pizza delivers this dark twist by topping a pizza with shrimp and other seafood toppings, along with black olives, semi-dried tomatoes, and, cheese. The whole thing is then topped with black truffle squid ink and some rice to give it a very unusual look.
The new landmine pizza is available now through December 1, 2024.
