Chocolate Lactation Cookies

These Baked Goods Contain Ingredients That Help Breastfeeding Mothers

Whether or not you are nursing, these lactation cookies are an excellent excuse to just eat cookies. Made by food blogger and new mother Jess of How Sweet It Is, the baked goods use key ingredients like oats, brewers yeast, coconut oil and flax that are reported to increase milk production in breastfeeding moms. They are also just tasty, regardless if they work.

These lactation cookies also make a wonderfully thoughtful gift if you know and love ladies who are nursing. Jess suggests baking two batches and freezing one of them (or half of one batch) before delivering. She also recommends those expecting can make them beforehand and freeze them. This is because the cookies are not particularly moist or soft, so they are prone to drying out.
