La Borinquena is a new line of action figures based on Edgardo Miranda-Rodriguez's comic book series. The Writer and philanthropist announced his partnership with Boss Fight Studios to release a line of figurines starring characters from his superhero comic, La Borinquena.
The comic and the line of dolls feature an Afro-Latina lead. La Borinquena was featured alongside several DC heroes in an anthology after Hurricane Maria. Funds from the anthology went directly to Puerto Rican relief efforts. Numerous animated shorts were created for charitable and educational purposes, featuring the Afro-Latina lead.
In addition to the La Borinquena figures, the first wave of action figures includes collectibles based on heroes Luz la Luminosa and other superheroes from the comic.
