Portuguese artist L Filipe dos Santos charms viewers with warm abstracts.
The artist has an evident wanderlust in terms of sense of identity. Inspired by the famous Rorschach Ink Blot Test, dos Santos revamped the tell-tale psych test into an aesthetic treat. Done in a moleskin sketch book, the drawings are done by the artist dripping three pastel-hued colors between the pages. Upon reopening the book, a bright blotch would strike the artist's imagination. Santos creates sweet figures, seemingly lost in love. The romantic characters rendered from the abstract blotches are done in ball point pen.
The abstraction in combination with the everyday materials and concepts makes these pieces stick out. L Filipe dos Santos turns an otherwise daunting psychoanalytical test into a sunny character study.
