Leica Launches the C-Lux Kumamon Celebrating 10 Years

Leica teams up with Kumamon on a C-Lux camera iteration to celebrate the mascot and its 10th anniversary this year. Kumamon is a mascot that was created by Kumamoto Prefecture government in Japan. The character made its original debut in 2010 as a part of a campaign for the purpose of bringing in tourists following the opening of the Kyushu bullet train.

Since then, the mascot has gained popularity and became beloved by locals and tourists. The collaboration takes Leica's C-Lux as the foundation and details it with golden panels and a black body. It is decorated with Kumamon faces throughout the body in different facial expressions and comes with a signed photo of KUMA bear.
