Katharina Jung Takes Fanciful Portraits of Herself by Manipulating Them

This series of photos by German photographer Katharina Jung allows the viewer to escape to another realm -- a realm of dramatics and surrealism. The 20-year-old created the photos by taking self portraits in natural scenes and then altering them into dreamy compositions.

She imagined herself floating in midair, pulling on clouds and wearing butterfly transforming dresses. Every image is captivating and looks like the scene of a fairytale.

Jung takes these specific approaches to her work because it helps her cope with her intense feelings. She tries to "convert [her] emotions in images." This specific series is meant to be a 52 week project, in which she will make one image per week. She is currently halfway through, so she has lot of time to work through her feelings.
