Visiting New York? How will you know where the best late night pizza place is or what museums are actually worth checking out? Ask someone that lives there!
"Just Ask The Locals" is a novel New York City tour campaign. It features about 30 celebrities familiar with the area and covers the areas of the Big Apple they deem noteworthy. The campaign includes insight from stars like P. Diddy, Robert De Niro, Julianne Moore, Kevin Bacon, Jimmy Falon, Tim Gunn, Cynthia Rowley, Dany Levy and Ivanka Trump who dish on their favourite locations.
P. Diddy suggests checking sipping on a drink at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel, which has a gorgeous view of Central Park and Ivanka tells you Monday Night Magic is a Broadway show you don't want to miss.
The most modern part of the campaign was created by NYC & Company and runs in the small TV screens installed in about 400 NYC taxis which show features like de Niro's TriBeCa tour.
If one of your missions when visiting New York is star spotting, it would probably be a wise start to study these ads! Although chances are, these stars probably won't be hanging out in most of these hot spots now that they've made them public.
The campaign was launched about eight months ago, but it's still creating quite a buzz. The ads can be seen on billboards at the NYC airport as well as in public transit stations like bus stops. There are more than 200 ads dispersed throughout Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, the Bronx and Staten Island.
