Layered Angel Art

'Emergence' by Julius Friedman at the 21c Museum in Louisville

Julius Friedman is an artist from the city of Louisville, Kentucky. His hometown status alone makes him incredible (see my bio), but the art created by Mr. Friedman takes him to different level entirely.

His gallery, 'Emergence,' is on display at the 21c Museum in Louisville, and Friedman hopes that, when looking at his art, the viewer will "bring their own experiences and associations and create their own story. It is not what one looks at, it is what one sees."

A great way to view viewing, my fellow Louisvillian.

In 'Emergence,' Julius Friedman layers the human figure and incorporates abstract designs, natural scenes and hieroglyphics to give the images a haunted sense of mystery. Of course, that is just one view.

'Emergence' can be viewed through July, 2010. So get to Louisville! Maybe I'll see you there.
