It looks like some brands are using QR codes to full advantage this holiday season, and British retailer John Lewis is one of them. The John Lewis virtual shop has been launched in Brighton, and it's a giant window display featuring product images with accompanying scannable codes to let shoppers conveniently purchase items.
The customer just has to scan the code and visit John Lewis's site to complete the purchase and visit the company's Waitrose store in Brighton to pick up the item -- as early as 2 p.m. the next day. The 'click and collect' service, as it's referred to by the retailer, is available 24 hours a day for shoppers. Currently offered at the John Lewis virtual shop are the brand's 'Top 30 favourite things for Christmas,' which includes the Amazon Kindle, Prada's Candy Eau de Parfum and the Apple iPad 2.
