Rendering any Star Wars character is already a daunting task in and of itself due to the idiosyncratic and memorable designs of George Lucas' team, but Joe Wight has decided to complicate that task even more; he decided to draw members of the cast in a cutesy cartoon style with each character representing the letters of the alphabet. The result is 26 amazing little illustrations that exude the personality and charm of the individuals from the original trilogy.
One notable thing about Joe Wight’s Star Wars alphabet is that he actually draws characters in varying styles. Han, Luke and Leia all have a Japanese anime appearance to them that enhances their adorability, while Obi-Wan Kenobi and Emperor Palpatine look rather realistic for being caricatures. Both styles are expertly executed and harmonize well in the collection.
