From June 17 to October 2, the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts, in collaboration with La Maison Jean Paul Gaulter, Paris, will be hosting the first ever retrospective dedicated entirely to the celebrated fashion designer. The exhibit will include an impressive 120 couture gowns and ready-to-wear pieces.
'The Fashion World of Jean Paul Gaultier: From the Sidewalk to the Catwalk' will highlight the designer’s rebellious boundary-defying fashions that have earned him the title of "L’enfant Terrible of Fashion." Alongside his avant-garde creations, the designer’s close ties with popular culture, dance, cinema and art will be explored.
The Montreal Museum of Fine Arts is stepping up its game by employing the latest technologies in order to completely immerse its visitors in Jean Paul Gaultier’s world. The exhibit will include an original soundtrack conceived for the experience as well as mannequins with 3D-animated faces.
