Architecture studios Baíto Architectes and Atelier Pirollet Architectes work in collaboration on a renovation process that upgrades the Jean Bouissou Stadium Stand. What was once a dilapidated 20th-century Stadium has been repaired and the spotlight hits the modernized entrance. It is nestled in La Ciotat, Franch, and the contemporary touch is added to the iconic structure, which was first built in 1958.
The co-founder of Baíto Architectes, Batien Beguier shares the design process with Dezeen, noting "The project was intended to be mineral with a strong presence of concrete planks to reinforce the volume in its radical approach. And all the elements completing this volume – door, grade body, grille, tiles, earthenware, bench, etc – are treated in terracotta colour, a reminder of the local materials used, to soften and brighten the image of the building."
