The Vogue Italia December 2014 It's All About Gesture editorial features several digitized images of model Joan Smalls. Photographer Steven Klein's work incorporated snapshots of iPads, large screens and retro television monitors, speaking to the frequently seen merger of technology with fashion.
Stylist Tonne Goodman made Smalls appear just as futuristic as the pictures. Goodman opted for a glossy blonde wig, a snakeskin-print trench coat and chunky embroidered sleeves, all of which set this Smalls photoshoot apart from the many others that she is consistently involved with.
Whether posing in front of photos of herself or a modern balcony, Smalls has proved yet again that there is little outside of her reach. Instead, she is able to tackle a myriad of themes, including a sci-fi one such as It's All About Gesture.
