This unique design exhibition highlights the history of Italian innovation. The exhibit does not feature one specific industry, but varies from design innovation in the areas of cars, scooters, fashion and architecture among many others.
The exhibit spans from small objects and design pieces to groundbreaking inventions and even includes archival material from Italy's Museimpresa. Some pieces displayed include popular bottle designs by Fortunato Depero as well as lesser known innovations like the 'pressa catozzo,' a revolutionary film editing machine. The idea for the exhibit sprang up after Francesca Molteni wrote an article on Italian innovation, specifically objects produced in Italy, by Italian companies. That article became the basis for the exhibit which has since widened its scope. Molteni wanted to not only showcase Italian innovation products, but also highlight the works of entire industries.
