The Istanbul Twilight candlesticks look like they have been classically crafted out of clay. Their tiered textured exterior is reminiscent of objects fashioned on a pottery wheel. Nevertheless, they were created out of felt. Interestingly enough, the material was chosen for a good reason: wool doesn't catch fire. The textured look of the Istanbul Twilight candlesticks is the result of coiled strips of felt.
Designed by Siba Sahabi, the Istanbul Twilight candlesticks are inspired by the silhouette of the metropolis it is named after. According to the designer, "The use of colours reflect different shades of light on city facades at dusk and dawn." The candleholders will be displayed at MINT during London Design Festival 2012.
